  1. Use The Freshest Ingredients

Your best bet at sourcing actually fresh ingredients will be to go to your local farmer’s market and get something that was plucked from the ground within the last 24 hours.

While this may sound like a little bit of extra work, and it is, you can’t beat the taste benefits of truly fresh ingredients. This is one of the most important kitchen hacks there is.

  1. Be Wary of High Heat

If you want to cook something for a long time, it may seem like the logical move to turn the heat up on your stove to a high degree and let it rip. This actually is something you’ll want to avoid doing.

When you turn your stove up to high heat, you’re going to create an instant temperature that’s more likely to burn the exterior of what you’re currently cooking than properly guide it to a finished state.

Even when a recipe calls for high heat, it might be better to keep your stove’s heat closer to medium. This will all also depend on what kind of stove you’re working on. An electronic stove tends to get hotter than a gas stove, so you’ll have to be more careful with the heat in that scenario.

The exception to this rule is when you’re attempting to boil water. It will be difficult to burn water, so you can crank the heat up and speed up the boiling process.
